The Residence Mauritius is located near Belle Mare, on the east coast of the island. The hotel has a sumptuous atmosphere throughout, from the scented towels you’ll receive on arrival to the white-gloved butlers who are always on call, thanks to its location on a mile-long stretch of white sand beach surrounded by 25 acres of tropical gardens.
The Residence was the first hotel on the island to open a spa (treatments are subject to additional charges) and a heated pool, as well as a yoga studio, tennis courts, and a fitness centre.
A variety of watersports, such as Hobie Cat sailing and waterskiing, are also included. The hotel includes a PADI-certified dive centre and can arrange glass-bottomed boat rides (supplements apply).
The main restaurant, which is a combination of buffet and set-menu dining, serves the included meals. A second poolside restaurant, as well as a seafood restaurant, provide light lunches (supplements apply). A weekly beach BBQ and Mauritian culinary workshops are also held at the hotel (supplements apply). The hotel bar offers afternoon tea and late cocktails, as well as live entertainment every night. A pop-up bar and a new outdoor theatre have also been added to the beach.
Rooms with a separate living space, a big marble bathtub, and sea views are available in the Colonial Ocean View Rooms. A flat-screen TV with satellite channels, air conditioning, a mini bar, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a safe are among the amenities. Upon request, a mosquito net, iPod docking station, and butler service are all provided.
